| I have loved this movie since I was a little girl and bought it simply to remind me of childhood. Watching it as an adult has still been a great experience, I think it's a wonderful movie. |

| Well as a former US Army Tanker, I am writing this from that view. I had the privilege of serving with good soldiers, who on one occassion watched this movie together, as a company. The critisicm never ended.
I do like the actors in this movie, but the background, tactics and overall unit organizations shown in this picture, were pitiful. | This is probably the third worst re-make of an Asian horror movie I have had the unfortunate luck and choice of watching(The first movie I feel was The Ring 2 and the other was The Grudge 2). Another point I like to say is one or two reviewers keep saying how this is a horrible J-horror re-make when an actuality the original is a horror movie from Thailand. | These are movies with multiple camera angles and lush sets. The people speak with ordinary voices, not like those in a stage production.
There are twelve separate programs on the six DVDs. I am giving the five star because two of them are first rate, Pygmalion and The Millionairess. They stand the test of time unlike many other of his plays that satirize situations of 100+ years ago and no longer exist today. The others are from so-so to terrible. Shaw gets poorer as his story goes back in time and to other countries. |

| Time to celebrate! Finally this memorable production comes on DVD! What made the folks at DG wait such a long time? There were so many other sub-par DVD performances of this opera available out there long before this version was available. | This is an excellent production. If you are at all interested in this, I recommend getting "The Shaw Collection" DVD set instead. These are a series of televised BBC "Play of the Month". The production values aren't always top-notch, but the acting is typically quite good. The direction and sets are very stage-like as opposed to a TV or cinema movie.
This would be more enjoyable for Shaw, literature, or theater fans than your average public. Maggie Smith does a fantastic job. The rest of the cast is excellent. I haven't read the play so I ... Read More: |

| I enjoyed this flick because I love anything WW1 but you can tell that the budge was restrictive because almost evvery shot was in a trench! One the plus sife it explores the personality of the guys getting ready to go over the top one 7-1-16 the ffirst day and the sad day of the battle of the Somme....any who says Hague was not a dope! Not the best but a must see for the WW1 buff. |
