| Saw this movie (more then once!) in the theater when first released and thought it was great. Ordered one for my family and one for my brother's family when I realized it was on DVD. It is still a pleasure to watch, and a good one for the family! |

| This is in many ways not a very good movie. You have probably heard about how the movie was an absurd thing to begin with (five directors?) and how it blew up in production, and was pretty much thrown together.

| I saw this movie after Funny Girl, and perhaps that wasn't the wisest choice. This film is the weaker of the two, but it is, after all a different film. Most people, I know, have seen Funny Girl, so this could be a disappointment if one is expected the same level of film. However, it can be terrific in its own way. Barbra gets to play a modern (at the time) character with Daisy Gamble, while at the same time playing Melina Tentrees, a British gal from the past. Her acting is great, and very entertaining. ... | This is a true classic dvd,my Godfather asked me to buy which i couldnt,there is none in my country.until i tried my luck on Amazon ,and less than 2 weeks later ,it was in my letter box ,it was a high quality DVD .Im overjoyed ,thanks again Amazon!even make anything possible for a farfaraway country like mine...im sure i buy frm Amazon again!

| I just didn't find this funny at all. Niven was in movies that were much funnier. Just wasn't what I expected. In fact, beat me up if you like, but I much prefer Steve Martin's version. |

| I first saw Dad's Army on PBS 'way back in the seventies when I was in high school. In the 90's I came across a few episodes at a video store on VHS, and remembered how much I enjoyed it. Therefore, I was delighted to see the DVD set on Amazon.

| Much has been written in the reviews about possibly of the best films ever put on screen play and is a remarkable insight into English social standings and one upmanship.
My two lines that stand out to me are "in the dark??????" and have you got a "piece of string" As these were not mentioned in any of the other reviews it was time to add these choice words. | I typically like the films from the Hammer Production. The 1959 version of The Hound of the Baskervilles is one of my favourite. Christoher Lee, whom I like very much, is simply superb in this film. Peter Cushing and Andre Morell are also excellent. The setting, the atmosphere and the whole feeling of the story are beautifully rendered. I highly recommand this DVD to others. For those who like this genre of films, it is a good one to add to one's collection. |
