| The contradictory title of my review sums up my feelings about this flick. It's bad because: (1) It's set in the supposedly realistic environment of a modern military prison, but it's very unbelievable (you'll see what I mean if you make it to the last half-hour). | Filmed for about two years during the making of the poorly received album "St. Anger", "some Kind of Monster is a healing journey into the hard-beating heart of rock & roll" (-Jeff Shannon). Lol. Right. This is where they got a lot of material for the cartoon comedy series on Adult Swim, METALOCALYPSE. Seriously, it is. Check out the first season. And it's impossible to not think of the classic mockumentary THIS IS SPINAL TAP, the parallels with it getting a little odd.

| A white schoolteacher is raped by 5 men when her stagecoach is attacked. An Apache warrior comes in to save her and nurses her back to health. He tries several times to return her to other whites, but she stays with him. Finally he trains her how to shoot and she tracks down and kills the rapists. Unfortunately, she goes mad, the sheriff shows up and shoots the Apache as a heathen. | Beware! I just got my copies of both "I Was A teenage Caveman" and "The Day The World Ended" (both "Creature Features"). I haven't even watched them yet and I'm already PO'ed. Both came in clear snap cases with NO COVERS / NO ARTWORK!! As a collector, I am APPALLED.
