| I have to admit the beginning was not expected and the story line was thin, but overall it's a cute movie. My husband and I didn't have high hopes for it but my 3 year old daughter wanted to watch it. It isn't as good as the original but it was fun seeing Ariel, Sebastian, and Flounder on the screen again after all these years. Now my daughter is a huge fan and talks about Ariel every day. Looks like we need to get the orginal now. |

| If you don't know the plot to this, but do know the plot to the original, you know the plot to this. Melody is just a brattier clone of Ariel. She runs off and defies her parent's wishes and asks a sea with who's half mis-colored human and half octopus and has pet eels to change her into a mermaid. In exchange, the sea-witch with hair that's white and goes straight up pretty much just uses the kid to get Triton's trident.

| This movie isn't quite up there with Disney classics (Cinderella, Beauty and the Beast or even the 1st 101 Dalmatians), but it is really cute and fun. The animation is fine, the story is charming, and my daughter loves it. I recommend this movie for families looking for a "new" movie to enjoy together.
We borrowed this DVD from our local library. I would not recommend paying over $10 (max) for it. |

| i was so excited to find this dvd only to be disappointed. its very misleading. there were only about 5 lion king songs in this entire dvd. the dvd includes songs for other disney productions. I bought this dvd thinking all of the songs are from the LION KING movie, not Lion king and other disney movies. whats that about??? I have to either repeat the one song my daughter likes or keep skipping until we get to the next lion king song. thats not right. they should tell you either on the description or cover pix that ...
