| I'd put off getting this boxed set because it never went on sale. That is true of both this set and the Judy Garland Signature Collection. I finally did get this one, and for the past few days I've gone through the set and I can see why it's never on sale. Although I frequently see "The Women" and "Mildred Pierce" televised, it had been awhile for two of the others, and I had never seen "Humoresque" before. What a treat, what five outstanding films. | All of the films are very entertaining, Flamingo Road could almost singularly define 'potboiler' and Crawford's at her best, if a bit ridiculous early-on as a 50-ish carnival 'dancing girl', i guess that was the point. She's terrific in the film once you get beyond the first few minutes.

| The best DVD in this boxset is "San Francisco", an incredible movie with great DVD special features. The chemistry between Clark Gable and Jeanette MacDonald is pure magic.
My 3 star rating of this set is due to the selection of films contained in it. Boomtown wasn't bad, but it's kinda hokey. Wife VS secretary wasn't Gable's best either. This set would have been phenomenal if it included "Red Dust", "Mutiny on the bounty", and Gables final film "The misfits". While the selection of films aren't my favorite, I do ... Read More: |

| This so-so film is absolutely not a film noir and is boring and silly.
I give two stars simply because it has Dana Andrew in it. I cannot stand Crawford but Her fans will love it ! I thought Andrew and Fonda could save it.....NOPE ! |

| Low budget, B-grade slasher flick complete with cheesy special effects, heads-a-rolling, a transparent inplausible plot, and lots of screaming. At the end of Crawford's career she was clearly taking roles that she normally would not have bothered with, so even though many people rated this film highly, I think it's sad to see her in a movie like this, even though her performance is gutsy and interesting to watch. | I haven't seen this film in sometime, which is why I decided to just get myself a copy. With Joan Crawford, Hope Lange, Stephen Boyd, Brian Aherne, Suzy Parker, Diane Baker, Martha Hyer and Louis Jourdan (just to name a few) in the cast....you can't go wrong. Somewhat dated since there is NO computer at all in the film (smile). Each character is so good and strong.
