| I purchased a DVD from this seller and failed to receive it by the shipped date. As requested through Amazon I have tried to contact the seller and never received a response. I currently have put a claim into amazon for this purchase and awaiting a full refund with cancellation of the order. All in all it has been a huge headache. I gave them 1 star because they wouldn't accept a no star rating. |

of the thing. As british TV shows are usually first released as DVDs in America, I wish for the release of SCOOP, a London Weekend Television production (the week end branch of ITV)of 1986, a VIDEO COLLECTION VHS in 1990. | Happily, I did not see this firm when it was first released, and was unaffected by a butchred commercial version. But then, except for STAR WARS, which I saw the day it opened at the Paramount, New York, I make it a point to avoid first release showings on most films. Here, my caution was rewarded and I was able to enjoy a rare experience undiluted and at my leisure. | These are brilliant suspense / shoot 'em up films. Classic stuff, and while the first is the best by a wide margin, they're all worth owning. Great fun. |

| There's not much I can say that others have not. It seems H.G.Wells is no longer taken seriously in cinema. In my opinion, Dr. Moreau was horrible, as was this movie. The only Wells movie I've found enjoyable is The War of The Worlds. Ths movie starts out great. I began to think, oh, how sweet, it's going to be a nice love story, but no, it starts that way, then he basically says 'forget it, let's doing something else with this thing.'

1 minute short of 3 straight hours of abstract, non-linear, mind opening, mind blowing darkness... Laura Dern's performance was astounding, and really shook my senses. The only reason she hasn't been recognized for this role, that I can think of, is that this film is so much to take in, that some people would find it hard to sit threw...mostly for 2 reasons. | This is a good version of the play, but since I am a school teacher - let me give you a big heads up - there are a lot of bare-chested women in this that does nothing to further the plot. It's my husband's opinion that they are there so that men will watch the movie. The other problem is that this version is trying so hard to be politically correct that it bends Shakespeare's meaning to suit a twenty-first century audience. I feel this is done in such a way as to cause problems with the basic plot. |
