| This movie was a bit comical, but also very touching and tear jerking too, since Bridget(Renee Zellwegger) and Daniel(Hugh Grant) started out seeming like the perfect couple who was hot and heavy and then all of the sudden POOF! | It's really hard to find a good funny, not sleazy; comedy these days but this one makes the grade. Renee is funny, Hugh is his usual charming self, and Colin is one of the most under appreciated actors of this day. Here's one the whole family can watch and still not snooze.

| Several years ago when a Jeremy Brett "Holmes" mystery was playing on our local PBS station I made my wife (no Sherlock Holmes fan) sit down and watch with me. I don't recall the particular adventure that Holmes and the ever-faithful Watson were emerged however the reaction of my wife during the denouement was remarkable.

| I have been a fan of the book since it first come out, having read it well over a dozen times. I was eager to purchase the video adaptation once it came out on DVD. Overall, I was pleased.
The miniseries is a fairly faithful adaptation of the book, with some scenes taken word for word from the printed page. In other cases, changes are made to the storyline -- in some cases to advance the plot quickly, in others for no apparent reason. However, the general plot of the book is retained.
