| Murder on the Orient Express is the first Christie novel I read, and I believe it is the best Christie novel ever... After reading almost all Poirot books and seeing all Hercule Poirot adaptations(starring David Suchet), I think Albert Finney had none of the characteristics of Poirot. He is not well dressed, he is not clever, he is not anything that Poirot was...I think Finney and the director should have read some of Christie novels.

| This is in many ways not a very good movie. You have probably heard about how the movie was an absurd thing to begin with (five directors?) and how it blew up in production, and was pretty much thrown together.
Nonetheless, it's one of my favorite movies ever. I rarely watch a movie more than once, and I'm drawn to watch this from time to time. It's absurd, silly, and serious all at the same time. | If this film had not claimed it was based "on a true story...sort of" right at the opening, I would have thought it's faily entertaining.
It became a bad joke when one person had his whole right arm shot off by one of Domino fellow bounty hunters. Yet, he's still able to shout loudly to his mother asking her to give the hunters the money! There are quite a few nonsense scenes like that. There is a lot of shooting and action. | This is Mickey Rourke's typical sleaze bag role. The film isn't even accomplished enough to be considered soft porn. Zalman King should have abandoned his efforts in mainstream filmmaking and gone straight into the adult industry. He probably would have had more fun and would have saved us from such complete crap. |

| If you are looking for a roller coaster ride with popcorn, watch the Messenger, which isn't a bad movie but a wildly innacurate one. If you want to see a film that blends history with action, "Joan of Arc" is your movie. Not perfect, but far more realistic, with Leelee looking and acting a lot more like the teen-age Joan than others have. This doesn't rush through the story as the Messenger does, and doesn't portray her as the gibbering fanatic the other movie does.
