| If you have already seen the original movie from 1986, not the remake which is this movie, you'll probably be watching this flick with a preconceived notion of how the movie is gonna go. And you would be pretty much wrong...all around.

| This is a good movie about how the Jews came to run Hollywood, and Broadway, for most of the last century. Of course, it is somewhat biased because we are so immersed in the culture of Jewish Hollywood movies now, and the whole film is from the Jewish perspective. It is difficult for Americans now to "think outside the Jewish box" so we are automatically biased. At one point the film says that Jews made only 2 anti-nazi movies before the war. | It's been a while since I last saw this film and I remember liking it a lot! The DVD has gone out of print(OOP) and it's a shame that so many people will miss seeing this interesting and gritty film. Rourke gives a memorable perfomance in this tale of booze and should-a", "would-a","could a's". I would have to see it again before I could give it an honest rating, but it is certainly worth a new DVD release. "I could have beaten him if I had eaten a sandwich!" Please re-release this film on DVD! |

| I enjoyed this documentary thoroughly. I had originally bought it for it's Bright Eyes/Cursive content, although now i've started to listen to these other great groups out of Saddle Creek. It covers a wide range of SC's groups and goes into great depth into the workings and histories of the groups. I would liked to have had each groups "section" be a little longer, but none the less, it was very enjoyable! |
