| We bought both seasons of "Carnivale" after missing its run on TV. We had heard many positive things about it and given the difference from the norm in plot, time frame (30s), and venue we enjoyed the first season so we bought the second. It was a well done as the first but it obviously begs for a continuation of the story. All the plot angles are left unresolved and one gets no real closure from watching the finale. Well done, enjoyable, but unfulfilled in the ending. |

| Incredible acting by Winona Ryder and Angelina Jolie. This movie is worth watching to see fine acting on display. Great characters and behavior development, however this film lacks direction and a good, solid believable plot, but the performances are the key in this film piece. |

| As a person who was mesmerized by Robert Greysmith's book, I did not think any movie production based on the same events could compare. I was wrong. This is a wonderful movie, if you like true crime productions, and mind boggling even if you don't. | John Carpenter is a great director. He has a great sense of humor, great timing and has great skills. In fact, he is a great disciple of the classical form: austere, precise and always economic in terms of narrative... in the same tradition of one great master of the past: Howard Hawks. Don't take my word for it. Check the opening sequence of Vampires and compare it with the opening sequence of Hatari!. The similarities are striking and one can clearly see how Carpenter dominates his art.
