| It took me awhile to warm up to this version of Scooge. I had always been partial to Alastair Sim whom I thought played the part to a T as a person who becomes transformed. Once I began to really sit down and take notice of Reginald Owen and the way certain things were different from the Alastair Sim version, I became intrigged of the real humor as the movie progressed. | I don't understand why people panned this one. Williams was still a clown but rendered a dramatic performance that was second to none. Not quite as good as the "Fisher King" but then he didn't have Jeff Bridges to play off of. |
