| This movie is timeless...a great movie with great actors. I can watch it over and over again without being bored. It's up there with the Wizard of Oz, Gone With the Wind and others. I'll never be disappointed with this purchase which was delivered in a very timely and professional manner. |

| Excellent X-mas gift for Mom. I had a hard time trying to think of something she would need or want until Thanksgiving night when she spoke about wanting to watch the Thornbirds on TV. She didn't have the time to watch the series for the next few days it was on. So on Christmas Day when she opened her gift she was so happy. Now she wants her 3 daughters and her to have a girls night at her place to watch it. |

| The combination of Billy Wilder ( directing ), and Raymond Chandler ( screenplay ) should have insured any movie 'classic' status, but the addition of an excellent cast nailed the lid down. The chemistry between Stanwyck ( who pretty much set the standard here for femme fatales ), and Fred MacMurray ( in, arguably, his best role ) was incendiary. Add Edward G. Robinson, and the mix is positively lethal.

| We obtained this collection because we were curious to see films that were considered forbidden during the 1930's and it is interesting to realize what Hollywood gets away with today, vs. what was considered taboo in the early part of the 20th Century.

| This movie has a great cast but turns out to be a hoakie romp. Barbara is hot and Gary is made up to be a lint ridden, aged beyond his years, professor. The movie lost some of the humor with poor timing and too much time spent making Cooper to appear old.
Directing made it better than it should have been. It's cute but don't wait for the sequel. |

| The first time I saw this film was in 1992 at school. For years the movie's memories never left me and I made a effort to locate this film in 2005 or so only to a dead end. I confused this film with "Dial M for murder." I finally was able to locate this film in 2006 and bought a VHS copy on ebay for like $1.00. I'd like to get the DVD version eventually but it may need to wait. I am glad that they did not "colorize" this film on DVD or else I would stick with my VHS version. The TV series was based loosely on the Hill Ranch located at the western edge of Calaveras County, not far from Stockton (one episode places the Barkley Ranch a few hours ride from town while another has Jarrod riding past a Calaveras County sign on his way to the TV series' ranch).
