| I agree with the other reviewer I found most of the music to be too up beat for falling asleep, and my problem is staying asleep, not falling asleep. Some of the music made my heart race and then I could not fall sleep. I tried this CD 4 times before calling it quits. I would not recommend this CD. I have resulted to using my very loud air purifier as white noise so that as I sleep the street sounds do not wake me up, but recently someone recommended to me trying a Homedics SoundSpa machine, which ... | I was wondering whether the harpsichordist on this CD is Glenn Gould, since there is a lot of humming by him, which I found annoying. Maybe "Alistair Ross" studied under Gould. Anyway, thankfully he's not on all tracks.
Otherwise, Balsom indeed sounds great and the recording quality (apart from the above humming) is excellent, so I can basically agree with the other favourable reviews. |

| I have both this remastered EMI transfer and the Japanese Opus Kura CD set, so I do not think I am destroying anyone's business by my short comment. Neither I want to deprive anyone of the joy of listening to Casals' Bach in either transfer. If you already have a CD version and are happy with it, don't try to get its alternatives. My review is for those music lovers who don't have the Cello Suites BWV 1007-1012 on CD yet or are still looking for the optimal variant.

| Just to clarify from the previous review, this set collects the 3 cds of Philip Glass's music currently on the Naxos label. The fourth bonus cd is the Sonic Rebellion release, which is a compilation of pieces by twentieth century composers such as John Cage, Penderecki, Ligeti, etc. The performances on this set are all very good, and they show some of Glass's strongest compositions. | There is a good reason why this recording can be had new for seven dollars and change while the Bruno Walter reissue costs sixty bucks. This Triple is just plain awful. Neither Corigliano, Rose nor Hendl have one tenth the stature of the giants on this recording but guess what? They know how to play together. And HvK? He has no clue. |

| I ordered this DVD because Artur Rubenstein was one of my favorite pianists. Also, I wanted to play it for my piano class of students. It did not disappoint, it was excellent. It even included an interview, which was a nice surprise. |

| Personally, I am not enough of a music wizard to be able to compare this CD with others producing the same concertos. It's beautiful, I hear no flaws, it sweeps me away. |
