| Do not hesitate to buy this DVD. It is worth every dollar. The four singers really stand out, Netrebko with her angel-like voice, Vargas with a wonderful tenor voice, Garanca as a colorful mezzo and Tezier as a brilliant baritone. Each and every aria are outstandingly sung and when the four of them join to sing both an aria from Rigoletto and from Traviata their voices blend wonderfully. | The conductor and the singers can make a beautiful song the opera that everyone jeers and hates. To have a Russian singer doing o mio babbino caro is just plain silly...give the woman a break and play something from Russian opera...give a beautiful melodic aria to a lyrical singer like Caballe...boo hiss. Try Opera's Greatest Moments where they give Hvorostvsky an aria from Pique Dame and leave the bel canto to bel canto singers. |

| even though it's been 40 years since it was released, Switched on Bach by Wendy (formerly Walter) Carlos is one of the best musical performances ever recorded. Anyone even remotely into classical music would enjoy this CD. I had this as a kid (on a record - ask your parents what those were) and it disappeared in all the moves. I was SO glad to find it again.

| I'm a hard sell on Vivaldi--too many recordings remind me of the 'sewing-machine' Bach comment of past years: rhythmically strict and sing-song--but these, like Carmignola's earlier accounts, are a breath of fresh air. Based on the pleasure his earlier recordings have given me (I even bought his set of the Four Seasons, which brought my total recordings for those works to five), I downloaded these without a second thought. You couldn't go wrong doing the same.

| I grew up on opera but not on Maria Callas. Joan Sutherland, Schwartzkoff, Victoria Los Angeles, and Mady Mesple (to name a few) crowded the airwaves of our home growing up. I had heard that Maria Callas was THE Diva of opera and bought one of her obscure recordings from a low budget bin while in Paris 10 years ago. It didn't impress me that much. | If you like this type of modern music presented in a unique style with some excellent voices give this a try. the style is not to everyones tast, I'm hooked and my usual preference for music is more like linkin park and evanescence. But i love this in heavy traffic on the way home, it keeps down the road rage without having to listen to archaic religious latin verse. |

| Schiff spent twenty, yes 20 !!! years to study these Beethoven's 32 sonatas before he would record them and start giving concerts of the cycle. I happened to have the good fortune to be able to listen to every one LIVE that he performed so far. The last two installment will be in March and April, 2009.
The entire CD collection comprise of eight CDs but they are the best (on Beethoven's sonatas) so far. I have other complete sets. I am thinking of giving them away without regret. He is that good. Can't tell the difference ... Read More: |

| I like any kind of music, but I especially like to hear tenors sing. I was somewhat disappointed, though, because this seems not to be made in the recording studio but at a concert because some of the songs have clapping at the end. I wish I had read that when I looked it up. I prefer studio recordings. I was very disappointed with the recording of my favorite song of all time "Danny Boy", but all in all the CD is not bad. Most likely when I listen to it several more times it will grow on me like it is already starting to do. |
