| Schiff spent twenty, yes 20 !!! years to study these Beethoven's 32 sonatas before he would record them and start giving concerts of the cycle. I happened to have the good fortune to be able to listen to every one LIVE that he performed so far. The last two installment will be in March and April, 2009.
The entire CD collection comprise of eight CDs but they are the best (on Beethoven's sonatas) so far. I have other complete sets. I am thinking of giving them away without regret. He is ... Read More: |

| "Swan Lake" has great meaning for me. I used to rent LPs and would play them in the basement of Fine Arts on the University of Georgia campus. This was in the '50s. There is nothing as soothing as "Swan Lake." |

| I recently bought this cd for my husband, we talked about getting this to share with our daughter. There were so many variations of the cd. I looked at the reviews and picked this one. This is the same recording that we both had listened to as children. We love it!!! |

| I'm a seeker of the ideal Chopin. This performance is very good but if you have the Chopin recordings of Pollini,Perahia,Zimerman and Rubinstein then you probably don't need this one. But if you do decide to buy it you wont be disappointed. |

| I purchased this version of the monks of Santo Dominto De Silos at the same time I bought the 2008 edition of the Gregorian chant by the Cistercian Monks of Stift Heiligenkreuz (Chant: Music for the Soul). While the effort of the Santo Domingo monks was highly praised when it was released, I fully understand why the version by the Cistercian monks of Stift Heiligenkreuz was so brightly hailed.
