| I was pleasantly surprised by the overall quality of this recording. I used to think that only Angel Records could produce such quality. The people who did the mixing made me feel like I was standing next to the conductor. Every solo instrument seemed to sound its best.
I also liked the interpretation. I though it was traditional and being a tone poem I had no problem closing my eyes and "seeing" the action. |

| As usual, Anonymous 4 has researched (usually one year) and compiled an album of music that flows as if the pieces were written to be performed together. The musicality and the pitch is impeccable. Those who gave few stars to this recording and performance are commenting with regard to personal preference rather than truly rating this wonderful performance. | I can't call myself an aficionado so take this for what it is worth. The Rachmaninoff Concerto is played during some ad (that I can't remember) and this spoils it for me. Okay so I'm a Philistine But it is a good recording and the Tchaikovsky is great. Refer to the experts (ha-ha) here for technical details. I am glad to have this recording in my library. |

| I've gone several years without writing a review of this, because I can't think of anything to add to the existing heaps of praise this disc has gotten. I found it by chance 10 years ago, questing for Christmas music that was different from everything else available. | YoYo Ma is YoTo Ma. When it comes Chello, YoYo Ma and Dvorak combo cannot be beaten if you appreciate Chello concerto. The recording sounds bit quiet but otherwise it's another success by YoYo. |

| Stated simply, this is the grandest cycle of Beethoven symphonies available.Don't let other reviewers make you think that the sound is terrible.It is not.I am very picky about what I listen to,and the minor imperfections in this set cannot come close to comparing with the positive aspects.This set has (in my opinion the best version of the 1st and 8th I have ever heard).I hope all that purchase this set get one tenth of the enjoyment out of it that I have. |

| Sir Adrian Boult in both the Enigma Variations and the Pomp and Circumstance Marches, what more could anyone ask. How about Sir John Barbiolli in the Cockaigne Overture. With performances like these you can easily forgive the slight lapse in sound quality. I had all 5 Marches scattered on 5 different discs. Now they are all together with some great performances of Elgar masterpieces. At the price, there is no going wrong here. |
