| A nice collection of Mozart arranged and performed as the title says - to relax.
It is not a definative collection as others have mentioned, but it the melodies are familiar and are things you know. This leads to a good CD to put on, sit down and listen to with your eyes closed. One of the things I have been trying to do to help relax and calm down and I am very happy I bought this. I will be buying other titles in this series. |

| There are not many things in life that I would describe as just Gorgeous -- but this album is definitely one of them. The selections, the arrangements, the production quality, all are clean, yet lush -- simultaneously light and rich. The effect is wonderful.

| Well let me tell you, Beethoven was a ground breaking composer in just about every category he composed in and his SQs are NO Exception. B amazes me with his twists and turns. B was a moody individual and his SQs reflect his personality. Everything here is exceptional. He pushes the limits and then pulls back the reigns and provides you with a heart wrenching slow mvt which melts you. There is something for everyone, he includes a full range of emotions.

| Look, this cd has its bright spots, but there is so much that just didn't work out with it. Firstly, the Amsterdam Baroque Orchestra plays with its usual energy and authentic approach, but Yo Yo plays in a modern style. The two just don't mix. I keep expecting to hear some decorations to the cello line but there just aren't any. Some of the music is just played too fast such as the slow movement of the double cello concerto. | While working on the PARALLEL PERSPECTIVES Archives page, I started thinking about Maria Callas & her rather bizarre, non-singing role in the equally bizarre 1970's Pier Passolini film MEDEA--and noticed this CD of Puccini's MADAMA BUTTERFLY. | Sissel's voice is transcendent. So pure and lovely and easy to listen to. Her choice of music is out of this world. I can listen to it every day and not get tired of it. |

| I was pleasantly surprised by the overall quality of this recording. I used to think that only Angel Records could produce such quality. The people who did the mixing made me feel like I was standing next to the conductor. Every solo instrument seemed to sound its best.
I also liked the interpretation. I though it was traditional and being a tone poem I had no problem closing my eyes and "seeing" the action. |

| You don't hear much that is really different and good in this world, but this album is a major exception. I particularly like the fifth track, but you may have a different favorite. |

| This collection from the early years of Manuel Barrueco is one of the best values you'll find. It's 3 discs long and contains some of the best guitar playing I've ever heard. I've owned this set once before and had to buy it again because my original CDs were worn out from ware and tear. Highly recommended for anyone starting a serious classical guitar collection. |
