| As a person who knows nothing about instrumental music, especially of the Gaelic variety I can only give my general impressions of the CD. It was enjoyable to listen too, fairly relaxing and not irritating. I realize this is not an impressive review but that's really all I have to say.

| This album is absolutely flooring. THIS is Mozart. Grumiaux's playing is neither cutesy and fanciful nor forced, as so many renditions of these concertos are. In fact, it falls nowhere on that spectrum at all - these recordings draw from someplace different altogether. They are organic but not harsh, intense but not overwrought, powerful but not bombastic. This music is the kind that reaches down, uncovers your soul a little, and says, "Listen." And you do - it is that instinctual.

| Angel Corella is a mixture of long, lean lines, amazing technical skills, grace and a magnetic and inspiring stage presence. It is hard to think of anything he does as difficult because the ease of his movement is incredible.
Gillian Murphy is like a feather, she just floats across the stage. She is so believable as Odette/Odile, both such opposite personalities. Her technical prowess is equal to her artistry. This is a timeless and beautiful ballet that can be enjoyed by new balletomanes ... Read More: |

| Leoncavallo's Pagliacci is one of the verismo cornerstones of the Italian repertory. This performance does justice to the hot-blooded score with magnificent singing by tenor, Placido Domingo and Teresa Stratas. Conductor Georges Pretre, not usually associated with this repertoire, yet, he squeezes every white-hot passion out of this smoldering score. | This is a fine reading of the lesser-appreciated Brandenburgs. While the 3rd is the "greatest hit" of the six, I think these last two are also beautiful in their own way.
Marriner sure has the Touch, and despite this performance being on modern and not period instruments, I prefer it to some of the more "faithful" BCs I've heard, mainly due to the heartfelt perfection of the playing. Bach was all about perfection, on many levels, and these guys bring home how incredibly layered and harmonically rich these pieces are. ... Read More: |

| I really like the musical selections that are on this CD. The recordings seem to be from years ago and the quality isn't quite as good as modern recordings, but I like the selections a lot. |

| I was very excited to see this CD was finally available, and I jumped on it. I'm happy to say that I'm not disappointed. Adam's writing is both energetic and gorgeous, as ever. An equal to "El Nino", easily. Superior to "Klinghoffer" and (if it even needs to be said) the stumble that "I Was Looking At The Ceiling..." turned out to be. Nothing tops "Nixon", of course, but that opera is stylistically somewhat different from Adam's current style. I have yet to hear "Doctor Atomic" so I can't compare it.

| This is an excellent Boheme in every respect. I would note that I own the regular DVD in a widescreen version, and although the "product details" of this Blu-Ray version indicate that the production is in a 1:33::1 aspect ratio (i.e., full screen), it is more than likely in widescreen (i.e., 1:77::1). It's an unfortunate fact that--every now and then--widescreen versions of some films are carelessly (and incorrectly) characterized as full screen. |

| There is a clever juxtaposition of avant garde staging/theatrical setting with period subject material. The Queen of the Night is downright hot, not to mention the 3 maids. Pappageno stole the ovation! Although a small part, Pappagena is delightful. Regrettably, I don't know what to say about Tamino and Pamina but I'm sure they were great.
