This is an absolutely wonderful DVD jam-packed with interviews and background information on all of these most beautiful Chinese works coupled with an accompanying CD. | I'm a hard sell on Vivaldi--too many recordings remind me of the 'sewing-machine' Bach comment of past years: rhythmically strict and sing-song--but these, like Carmignola's earlier accounts, are a breath of fresh air. Based on the pleasure his earlier recordings have given me (I even bought his set of the Four Seasons, which brought my total recordings for those works to five), I downloaded these without a second thought. You couldn't go wrong doing the same.

| Schiff spent twenty, yes 20 !!! years to study these Beethoven's 32 sonatas before he would record them and start giving concerts of the cycle. I happened to have the good fortune to be able to listen to every one LIVE that he performed so far. The last two installment will be in March and April, 2009.
The entire CD collection comprise of eight CDs but they are the best (on Beethoven's sonatas) so far. I have other complete sets. I am thinking of giving them away without regret. He is that good. Can't ... Read More: |

| I'm a seeker of the ideal Chopin. This performance is very good but if you have the Chopin recordings of Pollini,Perahia,Zimerman and Rubinstein then you probably don't need this one. But if you do decide to buy it you wont be disappointed. |
