| There are many interpretations of the nutcracker. All of them are wonderful to listen to. I like this version from Antal Dorati and the concertgebouw orchestra with it's gentle flowing nature, like the ticking of a timepiece, with visions of a wintery landscape. To hear this done in this manner is like a tone poem of gentle sounds with ones own introspective images coming together so nicely.Dorati and Concertgeboew do it just right here. |

| I was excited to see such a great collection of classics, but I was really disappointed to listen and discover that many tracks are shortened dramatically. A fraction of Rhapsody in Blue- a ridiculously short fragment of Bethoveen Ninth Symphony- "Ode to Joy" a tiny part of the first movement of Rachmoninov's Piano Concerto no.3.
I'd rather have fewer tracks and the complete movements. |

| If I was required for the most unerring performances of this legend of the violin, I would pronounce myself for these recordings about Bartok. And this very fact seems incredible because as all of us are aware, Menuhin's refinement was feutred by a mellow and romantic taste.

| I purchased this CD after hearing a couple of tracks on our local fine arts radio station, but was completely unprepared for the richness and beauty to be found therein. Galway is a past master of the flute. The selections on this CD, both familiar and new to this reviewer, are lovely. And more than one is positively haunting.
