| Looking for Holiday Music for a dinner party I went to Amazon and typed in Christmas CD. This CD came up as a Christmas choice. It doesn't sound very much like Christmas music to me. The value and shipping were very inexpensive so the sound of it was my only disappointment. |

| This CD compilation lives up to its titled billing: it IS the most relaxing classical music in the universe! A caveat, however: consider the source of this opinion. My classical music background derives from a single music appreciation class at LSU-Baton Rouge in 1972--in which I made a B. (A bunch of LSU band kids were in there, though, and they drove up the grading curve.) | This is an excellent CD to introduce yourself to Segovia or to have a nice collection of many of his better works. The Guitar is well recorded given the era in which it was recorded.

| Rene Pape is the preeminent bass baritone of the opera world today. His recent King Marke at the Met was by far the best performance of the night, even with Barenboim's debut. This CD is a good sample of his repertoire. |

| I bought this because I love to listen to cellos. On my Mark&Daniels,the sound is first rate, overall. ButI would have loved to have the cello given a bit more prominence, audio-wise. The accompanying instruments are aggressive enough to drown the cello out in the musical pictures, except for the first selection which is just fabulous. |

| I heard this CD on a PBS pledge drive (it was a premium) and found myself loving every cut on it! I was in my car and just wanted to keep on driving and listening. This is by far my most-played CD - I've had to make it a weekend only listen to prevent getting burned out on it. HIGHLY recommend it. Even if you are unfamiliar with some of the pieces, you will quickly learn to love them. . . . I must end this review - I'm off to listen to the "flower duet" for the 100th time. . . |
