| So much to choose from on this double CD. Lots of room for different nuances of expression in both barre and centre work. Lush adages and exciting grand allegro, perfectly-timed pirouette selections, subtle port de bras/reverance. This music highlights the role of artistry in daily senior class work while still having the well-defined melodies more suited to younger students. As a new-comer to this CD the "4bar intro - 4/4 - 64bars" notation format is extremely helpful. |

| The music on this recording is pretty, easy to count, and varying in measure structure. This is the best ballet cd I have ever heard. Liner notes even include which song applies to what type of combination. (i.e. plie, tendu, and battements, etc) Excellent for all levels. |

| If anyone is looking for a class cd to buy...this is it! I'm an ex professional NYC dancer and have recently retired to teaching. I highly recommend Douglas' cd's "Music from Company Class" Vol.1 and Vol.2. His unique style of playing and choice of songs for class inspires the students as well as the teacher. It makes teaching more exhilerating when you have such great music to choreograph your combinations. These cds are a "must have" to add to your collection. You won't be sorry! |
