| My 2 1/2 yr old son pretty much loves all things Thomas, but he especially loves this book! I think it's the combo of Thomas plus funny animals plus lift-the-flap that made it an instant favorite. We have only owned it for a little over a week but he has asked me to read it to him at least twice a day since the minute he received it. Overall I think it's a cute book and is sturdier than I would have expected for a paperback. I definitely recommend it for any little Thomas fans out there! |

| Here's the bottom line:
Buy the book for your kids -- not for you. Adult may roll their eyes at this plot which is so implausible that the author spends many pages just trying to make it possible. However, the book has kidnapping, a scary criminal and animals! It's a sure-fire winning combination for kids. Nothing wrong with that! Just be happy your child is reading. |

| I'm so glad to have found this book again. We had an old faded copy when our children were growing up, but I loved to read it to them. We all need to be reminded that there's a place in this world for all of God's creatures. I'm getting copies now for my grandchildren who are enjoying a large banana spider living on their front porch. |

| The book is worth buying just to look at the illustrations alone.
Great appeal to anyone who enjoys going to the zoo or for kids planning their first trip. Captures the child's imagination with a little bit of silliness. A great book for young children to have. |

| The illustrations here are nicely done, but the story is a bit thin, even for 3-4 year olds. Another problem is that the paper stock used for the book's pages is very thin, and not very sturdy. This is a big problem for younger readers, since the book has one page that has a lift-up flap (a door that Loris is behind), and another page that folds out to reveal a larger scene.
