| My brother got this for my sons birthday. I have read through it as I am wont to do with everything he gets and this really is an indocrination as one reviewer put it. With half the worlds scientists disagreeing over this topic (watch PBS or pick up popular science once in a while) how can I let my boy read this. Sorry but its a no go for me as I know his hippie dippie teachers will fill his head full of enough mush each day.

| The pictures are great and the concept well done. My only problem with the book is the statement that Thanksgiving is celebrated on the last Thursday in November. The author also CORRECTLY states that Thanksgiving Day is the 4th Thursday in November. However, as witness this year, the 4th Thursday isn't always the last Thursday. |

| I was really surprised by how much impact this one book had on me and my 4 yr old. This book is so simply beautifully illustrated, informative, and eye opening even to adults. Some animals have fewer than 20 left on the earth and will most likely be gone forever. It helps open discussion for young kids about the earth they will inherit and simple things kids can do to help. I will be giving these out as gift to parents with kindergarden and first grader kids. |

| Honestly, this book is great, but you could find more resources like what is found in this book on the internet. I own the whole series of the Play and culture type books. I feel I would have done better by searching the internet. This is a great book to have. Expect a taste of games to play with kids, not the full course meal. |

| Although this book has some pretty pictures and some basic information about Fibonacci, it fails to provide good connections between the pictures and the Fibonacci sequence. The text, in rhyme, has nothing to do with Fibonacci. So, although the pictures are pretty, the book fails at it's most fundamental point, it fails to illustrate how Fibonacci numbers are seen in nature.
You cannot give this book to a child and have them understand the connection of the Fibonacci sequence to nature without outside help. |
