| My daughter really likes this book. It opens her up to think about what she would do in some sticky social situations (sticky for a Tween anyway). It has also inspired some really nice discussions between us about how she would handle herself and her feelings. Good book to have. |

| I am a teacher and I use this book to teach point of view, voice, and character studies, as well as visual clues and class bias. It can be enjoyed as a visually stimulating illustrated book for younger children and as a enjoyable and interesting learning exercise for older children. I enjoy and value this book! |

| The Truth: I'm a Girl, I'm Smart and I Know EverythingAnother great book from American Girl. This book really brings up so many of the 'sticky' situations that we all face growing up and also brings up lots of situations that thankfully we never face, but it is good to know what to do. For example, I certainly almost threw up in school and it was a real fear. On the other hand, I never was worried about a tornado, but still as a kid I would have enjoyed reading about how to protect myself.

i have to admit, while reading the back of this back at our local bookstore, it didn't really catch my interest, but, being a big fan of sarah dessen, i bought it anyway. after the first couple of chapters though, i couldn't put it down, considering its clever characters and catchy plot. | My daughter is 2 years old and had a problem with biting other children while at daycare. We tried "reasoning" with her - but it didn't seem to help. So, we decided to try buying a book hoping that perhaps it might help the situation. She loves this book. Surprisingly, after reading the book to her, she has not had any reported problems of biting anymore. Coincidence? Perhaps. Perhaps not. This book sure is worth trying it for yourself. |
