| I thought the book was really good. I was so tempted to read more at the end! I thought the book was really sad when the Taliban took Parvana's father. But, I think it was really thoughtful when the guys were helping her father up the steps. |

| I had previously bought and read two other books by Richard Carlson, Shortcut Through Therapy and Don't sweat the small stuff...it's all just small stuff. I had found that both those books made a huge difference in my life and helped me, as someone who suffers from anxiety, to look at life in a very different way. | I know a young girl at the age of nine and she has read small steps. She loved it. I aso love it. It is a great book for ages nine and up. It is about a boy that has a nick name armpit that plans to take small steps to his future. He takes a too big step and is in a bit of a problem. His friend x ray plans to help. Read and find the step out. |

| If you have reluctant middle school readers, this is the book for you! Just read the first paragraph to them and shut the book. They will scramble to read the rest. Sharon M. Draper is a remarkable writer who puts the reader right in the middle of the story. You can never go wrong with one of her novels! |

| An exciting book that makes you stop and wonder about various situations Penny goes through. It's not really adventurous, however, which seemed to dissapoint me. In the long run, it's worth reading. |

| I read this book with my 6 year old daughter based on other reader reviews. I have to say that is was right on. Any younger, it may have missed the mark. It really addresses who is appropriate to touch or see our bodies. Of course, we talked about what we read, which made it even better. |

| I didn't read this book until I was a mom, and that's a pity, because I would have loved it when I was a kid. I find the ending, where the family is provided with a home, particularly fine. Their new home is only a cellar apartment, but you know it is going to be a great, safe, environment for the children to grow up in, where their mother has suitable employment and they have a grandpa as well.
