| On June l9, 2008 we euthanized 3 canine friends we had had for many years. Why all together? Two of the dogs were mother and son--the mother in advanced senility and other health issues and her son was completely paralyzed with hip displasia. Louie, the youngest, was dying with cancer. | I owned this book before I even had children. I used it in the classroom as a teaching tool. To drive the point home, I would have the children try to mix piant together to make their shade of skin pigment. They were amazed at how no one is white, and no one is black.

| This book is written to 10-12 year-olds and covers self-esteem, feelings of inferiority, peer-pressure, body changes, romantic love, and emotions. I just finished reading it to my sons. It provoked many questions and good conversations. I guess most everyone either loves or hates Dr. Dobson, but this book is just solid preparation for the teen-age years. | In this book, a boy is confused about his body. He finds belly button lint, sees a grey mass fall out of his nose, and his tooth was loose. The boy began to panic thinking that is body was falling apart. His parents reassured him that it was all normal.

| First off, let me clarify in my personal response that I've never been a fan of the historical fiction genre. Historical fiction books bore me, and they never seem to contain the excitement found in contemporary fiction. Sarah, Plain and Tall, while more character-centric than most historical fiction books, still just didn't catch my interest. | I first heard about this author when my wife was reading, "For Women Only." My wife kept asking me if what she was reading was true. At first I was intimidated by how candid and frank the author was, but I could not disagree that she described the inner landscape of men (at least of me!) with surgical precision.
