| We love the 20th Century Children's Book Collection (perfect for our 4-year-old) and just added this to our book collection. This is a tad on the 'older' side - not as many pictures with the stories and they are longer. We read from it but will probably enjoy it a little more in the next few years. The stories are great and many you would probably not read if not for being included in this collection. It's like having 40 books in 1. I wish Janet Schulman would do more of these collections. |

| I borrowed this book from my cousin's friend when I was ten years old in the fourth grade. Most of the stories was good, but I don't recommend this book to young readers. My favorite story is Bloody Mary. Because of that story, I couldn't sleep. I thought she was going to jump out the mirroir at midnight and kill me, and I start seeing her. Or it was my imagination. I know it wasn't. I do recommend this book for readers. |

| I was very disappointed in this book. Not only did the stories seem to go on forever, with the plot seeming to go nowhere, but the stories we're a bit to old for my three year old. There is one story in particular where Diesel 10 is a mean engine who tries to 'get rid' of the steamies... my son now goes around saying, "I'll get you, you puffball". Not appropiate, too much violence!! |

| A collection of short stories about teenagers trying to figure out how love works. There were a few characters that I'd be tempted to beat with my shoe if I ever met them on the street, but overall, the voices were realistic and this will appeal to teens, especially girls. Several of the stories made me laugh and others left me feeling depressed. My favorite story was "A Letter to My Daughter," a letter from an absent father to the daughter he's never met. |

| This must have been one of the funniest books I've ever read. It has different stories about Andy Griffiths when he was a kid. All stories are about Andy playing practical jokes on his parents, his friends, and total strangers. You won't know what's funny until you've read Just Joking. It is extremely hilarious. One of the main reasons I liked this book is how fast it is. There wasn't a part in the book where I was bored. Andy Griffiths sure knows how to keep the reader just wanting to keep on reading. | This book is just awesome. I bought this for my daughter. I read it, laughed, and realized I would never read this to a small child. It's so miserable it's funny. The drawings are morbidly beautiful, the story is tragic and hilarious, Edward Gorey is like the Tim Burton of adult children's books. |
