| Steven Kellog is a fantastic illustrator if your familiar with any of his works you know this. So when I set out on my quest to find a gripping fantastic "NON-Scary" version of 'Jack and the Beanstalk" I gave this a whirl but boy am I incredibly disappointed the ogre in it is very scary, he actually holds a big "hunting" type knife the words haven't been altered in anyway so "fee fi fo fum I smell the blood of an englishman" etc is still there and just much to much for a little girl aged 3 which ... | Nice book about a little (black) boy who wants to learn to whistle, and, predictably, eventually does.
It's always nice to have picture books that feature black kids that take place in the US and that don't make "being black" the focus of the story, or else talk all about some "issue". | This is a good product, but you can get the complete 12 Volume of the Fairy books for 99 Cents for the Kindle. Each color book has its own active table of contents. Can't go wrong! |

| I loved this book when I was little. I don't remember how old I was or where I first saw it, but I remember checking it out of a library several times. I knew it wasn't a new story, with the tattered cover and discolored pages, but I loved that there were never any problems in it and that the little girl lived so differently than I did, in a time before mine. | Dahl's stories were always unique. I first read most of these in '60's and '70's and find them as fascinating today as I did then. The early ones that I had not read have still not been read as I've concentrated on the favorites. |

| These storybook collections are great. I already bought the Disney "Princess" version for my niece, and this version for my nephew. The price point is fabulous, and the 200 stickers in the back are a real treat as well. |

| There are only couple of stories interesting in the whole book. I tried to read them to my 5 and 6 year old kids. They always insisted me to read other story books. I tried to put it into my 6 year old kid's reading list. He talked to me that he would rather read something else. |
