| Our mom just finished reading The Children's Homer to us. It was interesting. The story is about people and adventures. We liked the part when someone sings a song about Odysseus building the horse. It's the children's homer and we think you should learn more about the journey of Odysseus. You will also learn about Achilles and some of the battles of Troy. We like that Odysseus was most wanting to get home to his family.

| This book is great for any Dumbo fan! I enjoy the illustrations, which were done by Disney artists of the time. The story is very much like the movie. One reviewer states that there is nothing about Dumbo losing the magic feather and believing in himself, however it is in there. Another, reveiwer felt some of the lines were odd. | Quite possibly the most charming cat stories ever written. Jenny the cat is filled with wonderful emotions that everyone can relate to...nervous about making new friends, afraid that she's not good enough, she proves herself through all sorts of wonderful adventures. Highly recommended! |

| My four-year-old daughter has been brainwashed by Disney and thinks about princesses all day long. She loves this book. It's a different angle on princesshood, and I really think it's made her more enthusiastic about helping out around the house. (We now talk about "chores" a lot.)
This is a very well-written book, age-appropriate up to about age 7, brilliantly illustrated, fun to read, funny...fabulous. |

| This book holds a special place in my life because it is the first book that I ever read by Louisa May Alcott. I suspect that I stole it from my grandmother's library. As the first, it was my favorite for a long long time-- particularly since it didn't make me cry buckets the way that Little Women) did (does). It left me with an enduring love for idea of little gifts from foreign lands-- one of the things that happened to Rose that just seemed to me so very wonderful.

| I cannot speak highly enough about this wonderful book. It is meant to be read just as it is written and I started reading it to my twin boys when they were 4 years old. Immersing them in such beautiful language is such a gift. They never get tired of hearing the same stories over and over, especially "The Elephant's Child" with his satiable curtiosity! | An incredibly powerful book. It's softly written, but beautiful and dreamy in that writing. A girl experiences a changing summer after a local girl is hit by a car and dies. This leads her to observe life differently and appreciate its ups and downs.
Lest you fear this is just angst, it's not. It's life, family, friends, and romance. |

| I love Edgar Allan Poe, and I love art. That is why I bought this book. I had never even heard of this artist before, but now I am definitely a fan. His illustrations are dark and creepy, just like the poetry. It is a quick read, but I go back to look at the images every once in a while. The style of art is perfect for the subject matter, and if Gris Grimly did another book like this I would definitely buy it! Highly recommended. |

We especially liked this book because not many stories are repeated from earlier Disney story collections. | I gave this to my son who is reading, but at times needs to be encouraged to practice reading. While expecting him to only read a few pages, he asked to read the whole book. He was also excitedly relating various plot points and information about dolphins. Anything that can get him excited about reading is great, and it has the added bonus of teaching him facts about dolphins. |
