| I generally like these books, but this one was awful. It's about girls not being allowed to go anywhere in ancient Greece, not being allowed to go to school, or the olympics, or anywhere outside, and not being allowed to learn to read or write... my 3 yr old girl and 5 yr old boy were really distressed by the injustice of it (the girl burst into tears!). | I've read AND own all the Warriors books that are currently published. I am waiting for Book Four of the Power of Three series. I recently read all the manga books, the original series, The New Propphecy,the Feild Guide, and Cats of the Cans. I also read the three Power of Three books that are sold now.
I recommend these books to everyone. Little kids will enjoy the adventure, but there is buits of romance, sadness, horror, and funniness in these books. They are great for all ages, but the older you are the more ... Read More: |

| Whilst working on my dissertation I prefer reading something highly distracting. Last year I chose Philip Pullmann's Dark Materials. This year my eye fell on Lemony Snicket's peculiar narration of the unfortunate Baudelaire children. I hesitate to recommend it to my 13-year old goldchild who might doubt his godmothers mental state or taste for literature. I am, however, highly entertained. Innovative, good English, funny, ... and I certainly want to know how it all ends; hopefully less unfortunate...! :o) |
