| we have very few babar books. he died so young, and his family cannot cut it. the later books are so bad that they're offensive. but this is the first and it works. the only sad thing about it is that babar was not brunhoff's brain child but his wife's and she has never gotten credit for it. she created the elephant as bedtime material for their children. he retold them well, and illustrated them as his children cannot but she should have been co-author at the very least! our kids love this book and ... | This is largely a nonsense book, of course - most of what Seuss gives as examples are his classic made-up creatures. Bloogs blowing by, and a Rink-Rinker-Fink.
But what a nonsense book! It's a lot of fun to read and talk about after. It may not be the most famous Seuss book, but it's certainly one of the best. |

The Dark is Rising sequence is one of those ubiquitous book series that all children seem required to read, and although I had it on my "to-read" list, I never got to it as a kiddo. So, when I saw this nice boxed set I thought it was my chance to catch up with a series I had neglected. | Firstly, I have to say that Erin Hunter is an excellent writer and her Warriors series are equally excellent. I'm surely a fan of her works...
Just not this one. Seekers has its exciting moments, but honestly, its a letdown. The characters are two-dimensional and I can't really feel for them on an emotional level like I could in her warriors books. They just seem so...naive and helpless, really. | We love this book for potty training. Our son loves it and it is a really great book for boys. I would recommend this book to everyone I know that has boys that are about to start potty training. It has helped us out ALOT. |

| The story comically portrays the lifestyles of the residents, showing their anticipation of the weather forecast, and their reluctance of leaving the house without plates or silverware! The meals are consistent, the restaurants are roofless, and the Sanitation Department must clear the roads after every meal. Perhaps the most charming aspect of the book is the forecast descriptions of the meals, stating, "For dinner one night there were lamb chops, becoming heavy at times, with occasional ketchup."
