Christopher Paolini is NOT a good author and he writes demonic books that seem okay on the outside but are dark with evil on the inside. | It's been difficult for me to get into the Harry Potter books, having already seen all of the movies to this point. However, when the theatrical release of this film was pushed back into 2009, I thought now was a good time to try again with this one. THAN GOODNESS I DID! I've even started going backwards in the series.

| Well let me start by saying this. I have liked everything Jim Butcher has written. He has gotten better and better with every book. Along comes Backup a very short story about Harry's brother Thomas. It's 70 pages and some of those pages have drawings from Hellboy artist and creator Mike Mignola. So how could it be as good or as deep of a story as his other books? Well it is. He has deepened The Dresden world wonderfully with this short story. | I really liked the first book in the series "Marked" that I borrowed from a friend. I liked how open and optimistic the ending was.
I picked up this book from the library two days later, and was really disappointed. The main character Zoey went from being a great, independent main character to a selfish, whore that was never satisfied with any situation. I hope the next book doesn't further de-volve her because I'm really starting to hate her. |

| For my money Mr Salvatore is fantasy GOLD! He just missed the mark with this one. Too much "pirate politics" and not enough about the classic charactors we care about. Drizzt has gone from a quick thinking sword swinging take no prisoners hero to a wishy washy cog in the Luskan political machine. I have read everything RAS has written and loved them all...Except for this one. Too bad and the wait will be long but I will buy again! |
