| The book at least stayed within the bounds of possibility. The hero finds himself the proud discoverer of a time machine with no reverse. It's a great start to a novel but the hero is more victim than take charge guy and you never know who or what the villian is. |

| I really liked The Darkest Night. Gena Showalter's writing keeps you hooked and the characters are likeable and interesting.
The plot is interesting and the story is well written. I am interested in the other books in this series and will be reading them as well. |

| I've got two books of my own published and have worked like a dog to achieve that. And here comes George R. R. Martin with this gigantic book and larger series and breaks every rule--and charms me! Totally. I have to say--I'm mad at the literary establishment. The teachers and professors at writing conferences tell us don't do this: And then Martin does, and it works.

| First off, I can't believe that I have never read this before. Maybe because the Pulitzer Prize was won, I figured that the stories would be too difficult to read or understand. Even though I really loved only 5 of the stories, the other 4 were enjoyable, I just didn't like them as much as the former.
