Great conclusion to the original trilogy. This installment ties together most of the loose ends from the original trilogy and leads into the subsequent series books.

Fantasy for the sake of escapism is wonderful. Explanation of the same may become problematic. To the reader who enjoys escaping reality for fantasy, explanation for what otherwise has no reason is as inviting as the many hurtful "growing up" moments: e.g. when we learn that there is no Santa Claus or Easter Bunny or Tooth Afairy.

One of Great Britain's greatest fantasies is the Dark Materials' trilogy - where little children take on magical odysseys to cure what adults ruin. Similar to "The ... Read More:

Most YA series are for girls. A few are almost gender neutral.
I recently finished #8 and am pleased the the character development over the arc of the series. We will see if the authors can maintain.
The aliens are a bit weird. I wonder if they come from a fictional or movie tradition I am not aware of.

Books : The Predator (Animorphs, No. 5)
This was a surprisingly emotional book that helped solidify my love for this series back in the day. Applegate was smart enough to take the classically funny guy with hidden pain and turn into a storyline that affects the main plot of the entire series. Great action sequences as well.

125.The Stranger (Animorphs, No. 7) by: K.A. Applegate

I think this was one of the more fun books of the series. Call me a sucker for the fluff, but I can't help but fall for the basic, let's-go-attack-the-enemy approach. And it still manages a good bit of characterization. Lots of fun battle action. This is a great series of kids because they are easy-to-read and fast-paced with a plot that is not half-bad.

Books : Deltora Shadowlands/ Special Edition Books 1-3 (special editon books 1-3)
My dear friend who originally set up my addiction to Deltora was not too hot on this particular trilogy.

Frankly, I loved it. Ms. Rodda took a chance with a rather traditional fantasy/sci-fi approach and it worked with a fresh Deltora twist.

But that's all in the end. The majority of this trilogy is a mission to save the enslaved of the contintent, the means a journey through underground kingdoms of a forgotten people who had their own nasty run-in with the Enemy. As with DQ, the stories are full of ... Read More:

Books : The Answer (Animorphs, No. 53)
I loved the Answer. I can't believe the change in Jake's character. It was like he snapped. All the time I thought it would be Rachel who broke down but Jake just got evil. After reading it the second time though, I could sympathise with him. He needed to win, and he needed to do it then and there. I especially liked the return of Arbon, and how the Taxxons finally got a full explanation. It never made sense to me how they could be cannibals, who eat each other when they are still living (Ugghh) and then dd take Arbon in like they ... Read More:
