| The book description says this book is for 9- to 12-year-olds, but the story and difficulty seem about right for a 7- or 8-year-old. A girl in 7th grade is way above it.
That said, for younger kids this story of good friends Rachel and Kirsty and their adventures in Fairyland is sweet and enjoyable. | These CDs are amazing!! I use the Magic Tree House audio books during rest time, with my Preschoolers and Kindergarteners. They love them and I love the educational information that is interwoven into each story. They especially liked #38. My students have learned so much just from listening to these books! |

| I have read this countless times since the 4th grade, and it still continues to be one of my favorite books ever. The odd thing is that I remember being severely disappointed to learn this was not a fantasy.
But the real story is stronger, that of a deep friendship that affects a young boy for good and bad. | this series of books is really great it is one of the best written early teen books i have ever read. although it is not straight up fighting all the way. even the slower parts are exciting and entertaining. john flanagan is one heck of an author. |

| Great writing - very vivid images - very ingrossing stories. I loved the books. But I am 47 years old. If you wouldn't let your kids watch an R rated movie, think hard before you let them read these books.
These books are much more realistic and frightening than would be appropriate for children. And the messages are terrifying. In the first book of the series, the protagonist is 'tested' by 'good adults' with fear and intimidation. 'Bad children' are killed. Errors are punished with death.
