When I got "Vampire Kisses: Blood Relatives, Volume II" I was slightly intimidated by the fact that it was a graphic novel. One of the things I always say about this book is that it is the most extraordinarily okay book I have ever read. It isn't bad, but it isn't particularly good, either. It is just completely and sincerely okay. The fact of the matter is, the only thing that keeps it out of the bad category is Gaiman's talent. | Will's adventures continue in book two of John Flanagan's Ranger's Apprentice series, The Burning Bridge. This book was much like the first one: full of action, adventure...and was just downright fun. There isn't much about this series that is deep or inquisitive, but that's part of the its appeal. The writing is easy to read, goes by fast, and has just the right balance between action and plot to keep the reader interested.

| This was my first Magic Tree house book and I was really impressed. The story was well-done, and the concept of the tree house time machine reminded me of when I was a kid with a tree house in the woods with books strewn across its floor. In a way, many of us did or do have a tree house time machine to carry us away on wings of imagination, and I guess that's one of the reasons why these books are so popular.
