| The book is really helpful when you need help on the verbal section because it is full of good questions and explanations. The only problem is that the math problems are too easy. Compared to the real test the math problems are bad. I recommend this for you people who need help with the verbal sections.
It would have gotten a 5 star if it had harder math problems. |

| I bought this for a 5 year old, and I think the book (songs) are much more entertaining for the parent than the kid. The rhymes are only mildly clever, but what I think is lame: the rhymes are more about situations (i.e smelly lockers) that only older children would understand. In other words, the references don't match the experiences of younger children. |

| I have never heard of Brain Quest, but decided to buy as stocking stuffers, thanks to Amazon's suggestion and other user reviews. They are a real hit with the kids, who have a blast asking each other knowledge questions to test their skills! |

| Right away we are welcomed into the strange world of AD/HD and offered an experience of "A Day in the Life" of Maddy. In this clever approach, we get a real feel for the difficulties of this disorder: both for the person who has it (and how they see the world) and for the people around them. Amazing how such a conversational tone can convey so much information, while also using the complex structure of the AD/HD mindset. Excellent concept, friendly delivery, very helpful. |

| To be quite honest, I couldn't imagine spelling has a lot to do with pronunciation before. The author clearly associates each letter pattern with each vowel sound.(e.g./u; o as in woman, ou as in could, oui as in bouillon, u as in bull, oo as in wood) It sounds like a real cliche, but practice makes perfect; you'll get used to it once you get the pattern indicated in this book! The same is also true of prefixes(pre-, post-, re-, dis-, ex-, etc.) and suffixes(-ed, -tion, -er, -or, -ee, etc.). Both will help ... Read More: |
