| As we all know, dealing with peers is one of the most difficult - but essential - skills our children need to learn. In a search for material that could be used for teaching effective problem-solving, assertive communication and negotiation skills, I discovered this book and ordered a copy. | This is my first Pat Conroy book. All of his books have great reviews on Amazon, so I wasn't sure which one to start with; I just picked this one. I think I made a very good choice by reading 'The Water Is Wide' first. It's an early book, and I got a lot of insight into who Pat Conroy is, his humor, his goodwill, the kinds of people he surrounds himself with, etc.

| I bought this book for my homeschooled 8-year-old, and was disappointed to discover that almost the entire book talked about how to handle school. GT classes, working with teachers to negotiate more suitable learning opportunities, how to survive on the playground and in regular classrooms -- all these topics were addressed, but none were relevant to my homeschooled son, who still has questions about how and why he thinks and perceives the world differently than other children. |

| A wonderful gift for Grandma to give a two-year-old. It's too difficult right now, but he'll grow into it. I love that it came with a monkey toy that he can relate to better than just cardboard! His parents love it too, the BrainQuest, not the monkey. |

| I like this story for many reasons, including the rhyming sentences, the straightforward illustrations, the simple and gentle reminders from the teacher and the happy ending. I think my son likes it because zoo is one of his favourite place. |
