| My family loved this book. It has a lot of info on different aspects of school & also helps to see certain people at school in a different light. Example, how many parents think of the lunch gals or the custodian at Christmas?? We enjoyed it & thought it would make a very special teacher gift. -We also took things in to the nurse, lunch ladies and custodian!

| I bought this highly-recommended book to teach my bright 9-year-old when we decided to homeschool last year. Being a strong proponent of a traditional classical education, and a product of it myself, I wanted to like this book. I really did. But both my daughter and I were sorely disappointed in it.
This may have been a great little workbook at the turn of the 20th century, but IMHO it is too archaic for the 21st century. Not to mention, it bored us to tears, contained a lot of unnecessary busy ... Read More: |

| I love this book and have bought it for a few friends children. The CD of the song that comes with the book is wonderful! My husband and I are singing along to it in the car! The reason I gave it four stars, is I would have loved for the author to put the words to the song under each alphabet letter in the story. Overall, it has great illustrations and hand movements to go with it. |

| If you were intending to use this workbook as a homeschool curriculum you will be disappointed. If your child doesn't have background knowledge such as an understanding of historical occurrences such as the pilgrim voyage than they will be lost on some pages. The workbook provides a few sentences of background info on some topics such as mammals but it is obviously meant to expand current knowledge and not provide the lesson itself.
