| On a scale of 1 to 5 stars, with 5 stars being the best I rate this book 4 stars because I didn't find this book to be very funny. I thought this book was going to be like Louis Sachar's Wayside School books because it is about kids in a school. | I first read this years ago when I was 8, sometime after I got glasses when I was 7 and I could relate to the book somewhat when Karen was teased for her glasses, I myself had pink glasses when I was younger and because Karen was proud of her glasses by the time the book ended, I tried to be too because I wanted to be just like her. My favourite parts of the book were when Karen made a list of jokes to play on Ricky, and when Kristy took her to the library to look at pictures of cartoons who also wore glasses. |

| What a great book for girls who are going through the same dilemmas as Alice. Naylor gets it spot on - Alice is realistic, likable, and the predicaments she gets into are often hilarious. I definitely recommend this one. |

| I really didn't believe that Kristy would act that obnoxious...a lot of the things the characters did were out of character. The author bent them to fit the story. Also, Claudia got furious at Stacey for having the party and inviting her ("putting her in the middle"), but Claudia is the one that chose to go...it's on her head, if you ask me. So, it was a bit annoying, but we still thought the book was OK...so 3 stars. |
