Books : Balloons And Other Fun Things Lowly Worms How Where Why Book#3 (Lowly Worm's How, Where and Why)
My little girl received this book as a present, and she really enjoys it. She remembers the text and talks about gravity and helium. The level of detail and the proportion of words to pictures are good for this age group. I haven't been pleased with all of the "estate of Richard Scarry" products, but we will be getting more books from this series.

My best friend and I loved the Richard Scarry books when we were little. My friend gave this book to my daughter(then 2) for her birthday and it has become a fast favorite over the year. She never tires of Mr Frumble's silly antics, and continues to plead for "just one more!" until we often finish all of the stories in the book. We love to look at all the wonderful details included in the pictures and point out funny things. She is now a big Frumble fan and I'm looking for more of his books for her ... Read More:

My sister and I were so excited when we got this book, and we never forgot about it...We are 33 years old now, and it has kind of become our way of saying something is "fun"....whenever we do a craft or art project, we compare it to this book, "doesn't this remind you of when we played with Richard Scarry's rainy day book?" And its always a little bittersweet, because we no longer have our book. Imagine my delight, to find an old copy of the book, here on amazon! I can't wait for it to come in the mail, ... Read More:

This small book would not be one that I would expect babies to like. The artwork is busy and I'm not sure that a even a toddler would get the humor. For example, for the color green, there is a picture of Mr. Frumble's pickle car, also an overturned tanker truck that is pouring spinach out onto the road. [Okay it's not funny to me either, but you know how preschoolers are.]

Also, I'm not sure how many babies and younger toddlers would know the characters from Richard Scarry stories. Older ... Read More:

Books : Richard Scarry's Great Big Mystery
This book has some great illustrations and story lines that made sense in the 60s and 70s. It is not very politically correct though, with the two detectives accusing innocent people (animals!) of stealing and accosting them as they mind their own business. I love Richard Scarry and I have no problem with the un~PC plots but I can see how some people would. This is probably better though of as a classic for Richard Scarry Fans. One thing that I will say though, this is far more interesting for my 3 and a half ... Read More:
