| and now I'm buying it for their children. I still have the story memorized, from reading it aloud - oh, 1,000 times, easily.
"They heard a tiny peep -peep - peep, coming from the room. What could it be? (turn the page to hushed anticipation) It was their BABY!" The nice thick pages are easy to turn for little fingers. |

A lovely day of getting ready, driving through town, going to school, baking a pie, searching for adventure, flying a kite, cleaning up, and bedtime. Some gender stereotypes, but none terribly offensive. (Mom is at home, Dad takes the train to work. Teacher is female; police officer and mechanic are male. Most others are gender neutral.) |
