Her life, straggles in the new home and the court, is well written from her view point. Excellent for when your daughter complains of how hard her life is. Why? Because I purchased this book thinking it was YOUNG ADULT fiction. (a) It was not young adult fiction. Look again. Young adult fiction = TEEN fition. (b) This story seemed to be written for CHILDREN ages 6-9. (c) It FAILED to be exciting in any way. | What an excellent book. Both the story and the illustrations are superb. From the concept of the young girl out on her own, with just a small nesting doll her late grandmother bequeathed to her, to the magic the nesting doll contains to help Katya release a spell brought upon by a nasty vizier, to the fairy tale ending with her saving the prince, the story delivers. | What we love about this book series is that Gigi, the main character little girl, isn't perfect. She is flawed and yet she has good qualities and discovers what makes a person special to God. We are all human and flawed and I think children can better relate to "real" kids not perfect pristine children that are supposed to be the "perfect" example. Our 6 year old and 3 year old girls enjoy these books tremendously. We hope you will too. |

| These are great books for the begining reader who is ready for chapter books. Easy to follow stories that have make you want to read the next chapter to find out what is going to happen. It's funny that the princess doesn't like pink. Good for the girl who likes horses but not exactly a girly girl. I am so glad we stumble upon this series. |

| For me, I felt that this book - and book eight as well - was not at all cannon to the series.
I admit, I'm a big Michael and Mia fan. I've been reading these books for around 6 years now, and I've always loved their sappy, yet cliche, love story. And then we have J.P. | Let me be honest, I love these types of books, they are so much fun to read. This book is not only interesting on many levels, but the author is also witty and this is a must for a book of this sort. It's incredible to believe people like this existed and ruled countries, though I have a feeling the poor subjects of these nuts didnt find all this so funny. |

| The Usborne books are beautiful, I have a 3 year old and 14 month twins, they all love the cute drawings and the textures, the short texts are good for their attention span, but if you want you can linger in the page and comment on details. I would definiteley recommend these books to anyone with kids! |
