| Overall, this was a great book to read. No doubt, sometimes the characters were a little distant from the reader, with less emotional attachment to the reader than i would've liked. Also, on occasion, the plot and characters turn out a bit too optimistically well. A bit cliche. The fighting scenes could have been better (though not bad in itself). | As Harold Bloom says, this has become an unplayable play after the Holocaust. This is only an additional reason why one should read it. The play is fantastic and gives us one of Shakespeare's most memorable characters: Shylock. Whether you see him as villain or victim, Shylock is unforgettable. As is his speech defending the Jewish. |

| This book is very interesting, and, I must admit, kind of funny. It is about the teen-aged Isabel, princess of Castilla, and her brother Enrique's contiual attemps to 'marry her off' to men she hates. In fact, at one point in the book, when Enrique's wife askes if she wants to wear this or that dress to her wedding, she says, 'I would rather wear a buarial shroud!' The reader of this review will be pleased to know the Isabel didn't have to put on a buarial shroud in order to escape marrige. This book is easily one of the better ... Read More: |

| Having read Blood Red Horse prior to recommending it to my grandson, and finding it one of the best young person's novels to come along in recent years, I was eager to read the rest of the trilogy. Green Jasper is still better than most of the books aimed at young readers, but doesn't measure up to Blood Red Horse. It's action-packed, all right, but lacks the depth of the first book in the trilogy. | I am always confused as to why people bother to write books like this.
They always go like so: 1)The author takes a well known plot or historical event, and then inserts his/her character into it. 2)Instead of influencing main events (which were set in stone from the beginning, due to the source of the story) the character utterly fails to make any real impact at all, merely spectating from the sidelines. 3)As a result the character turns out to be really boring and wimpy. 4)I am left wondering why the author bothered to ... | This is a Disney Princess book from the Step Into Reading series of books for kids who are just beginning to read independently. In the story, all of the various princesses (Snow White, Cinderella, Ariel, etc) enjoy doing various winter activities such as riding in a sleigh and baking cookies.
