| My 7 year old daughter received one of these books from my mother and was an instant fan! She's quickly gone through the whole series and will even read them herself - though some of the words are a bit above her level, she seems to do just fine. |

| This is a book that was read to my older brother my sisten and lastely me. I have read this to my children and I was happy to find it still in print for my Grandson. It was out of print for some time but it's back. Hardcover, great colors, the origional illustrations still intact. This is an absolutly wonderful book, I was glad to stumble across it on Amazon. |

| I have always loved this book, it is one of my favorites of this author's works. It is a sweet story, not very long, and has a way of sticking with you. Patricia McKillip must have a very interesting way of seeing the world! |

| Kazunomiya is a princess of Japan during the time when the emperor became a nominal power while the shogun retained all real control over the country. I knew very little about this time period, so it was a great introduction to it.

| My daughter received this for her third birthday. We've had it for several months and it is still a favorite of hers. She can work the puzzles for up to an hour straight and is happily engaged in her play. She does like playing with the book near me so that I can help her if she gets stuck on a piece (especially on the reverse side puzzles that don't have a background to match the pieces to). | This would be a great book to use in a literature group of young women of high school age. It's not difficult to read, which would make it a good book to use in a classroom of readers that were not strong in their skills. It addresses themes common today in a setting that would lead into studies of Greek Mythology, or Bronze Age cultures.

| I bought this for my 2.5 year old daughter. She likes the story (she was Princess Jasmine for Halloween and her baby brother was Rajah) and is trying to read it. The pictures are clear and colorful. The words are simple. It's the right length. Good buy |
