| I have a thing for books about Princesses and so when I picked up this book I was excited. However, it wasn't like what I expected; it was better. It was nice to read a book about a princess with normal teenage problems. |

| this was my favorite book in the series. I love the idea of a girl king, and Kristina always stands up for herself. this was a wonderful book, and i highly recommend it. Ant to Beatrice D: I'm sorry if you didn't like the part where the mother cries. You can't change history. |

| Although many versions of the ballet call the girl Clara, she is called Marie Stahlbaum in the original E.T.A. Hoffmann story and in some versions of the ballet. This retelling is not incorrect; it just refers back to an earlier version of the story. |

| As the Romanov family is one of favorite subjects in history I picked up this book. While it was a great story (historical fiction account), I didn't like that the author towards the end of the book portrayed Rasputin in a good light. However, the author did a great job and should be commended on all her hard work researching the family and everything surrounding them during their time. |

| Mmm... I DID think this story was mediocre, which makes me wonder about the series. I think it is fine for young girls under 15. But knowing the Princess is 16 is enough to make me want more from the storytelling, which didn't happen. I feel you get what you pay for here. The author is a good writer, and got the book off to a tremendous start with her explanations of what magic is. Unfortunately, it goes downhill from there. | This book is loads of fun! I bought it for my third grader, who is taking a field trip to see "Romeo and Juliet." I wanted him to have some familiarity with the storyline so he wouldn't be yawning cluelessly by the end of Act I. He loved it so much he wanted to discuss it! Even my husband who hates to read the stuff enjoyed it.
In short, the book is well done. It shortens the plays into a very long story-summary without the dramatic language that can be somewhat of a distraction. We're not talking Cliff's Notes here folks. ... Read More: |

| My 7 year old daughter found this series while we were in London this June. Naturally they were a hit since horses and princesses are two of her favorite things. It also helps that there is a little mystery thrown in. She reads them from cover to cover in one sitting. And she often re-reads them when she is finished. The stories are appropriate and interesting and the characters are loveable. |

| My daughter loves this series. They don't have to be read in order, and they cover regular issues the girls may encounter at school or with other kids. Most girls want to be a princess, just like the main characters in these books!
