| I've the same book but a french one, it is the most useful book a reptiles' lover must have. It is simple to read, to understand. There's a good introduction to reptiles classifications (which is not obvious for begginers), the "identity card" for each animal is well conceived. A good book to bring for travelling. |

| I wanted a more comprehensive book than this. Too bad I could not find one. It covers fewer than 150 of the more than 1850 species, less than 10%. Some of the more noted snakes of the world are not covered at all. Not the Fer de Lance (does have a small side bar on this one), not the King Cobra, none of the sea snakes. | I buy dozens of these little books at a time and stockpile them for parties. You've never seen people get so in touch with their tattoo symbol as when they've had a few drinks at a party and put one of these on! Very fun and highly recommended, especially at the price. |

| My daughter who is 9.5 asked me to purchase this for her after we read a library copy. It is a sweet tale, well told. She much preferred the illustrations in the 25th anniversary edition. |

| This is the first book we got in the Take-Along-Guide series and we love it and plan to collect them all. The illustrations are lovely (although I find photos easier for a true guide book) but the brief diet and habitat notes were perfect for my 4yr son. The size guide and ruler on the back of the book were great to help my son get a feel for the differences in the species. Great for young scientists and explorers (I would say 4-8yr).
