| What a beautiful book! I bought it for my 3 year old grandson. Actually, his 4-1/2 year old sister picked it out after I presented her with the Caterpillars and Butterflies book that I purchased from a national park nature center. I was thrilled to discover that I could get several other titles from Amazon, so I purchased eight more books (USBORNE BEGINNERS). I will probably order all of the titles; they are so reasonable. | I bought this book for my 18-month-old grandson who loves both books and turtles; "tur-tell" was his first two-syllable word. He can (and does) look at it on his own and his older brother, a second grader and budding wildlife biologist, can read it to him, so they both enjoy it. There are enough beautiful photos (and a few smaller cartoon illustrations) for the little one and science for the bigger one. | We bought this book for my daughter's 6th birthday. She loves sea turtles and this book was just what we were looking for. It is full of basic information that she could easliy understand. The pictures and illustrations are great. I definitley recommend this book for someone looking for basic information on a child's level. |

| Reading this book to my class will make the difference between birds' and mammals' hot-bloodedness and reptiles', amphibians', and fish's cold-bloodedness much easier for my third graders to understand. It also is on the school's Accelerated Reader list, so they can then reread the book on their own and can take a test on it. I would recommend this book to anyone who wants to know more about animals and their characteristics. |

| Although this book is described as being for the 4-8 year-old group, it seemed to me more like a 7-9 year-old book that might well appeal more to boys than to girls (based on having had two of each in our family) due to some of the gross aspects.

| My son is 9 years old and hates chapter books, he would much rather be reading non-fiction. When I found the Chet Gecko series at the store, I took a chance and bought the first book. At first my son refused to read it, but after reading the first two chapters aloud as a bedtime story, he was hooked. He has since read all of the Chet Gecko novels and loves each and every one.
