| My son used this book as a reference for a science project that involved raising spadefoot toad tadpoles. This is a picture book with a very simple story, but the excellent illustrations depict the toad's lifecycle and unique habitat. We have enjoyed watching the spadefoot toads for years. They appear in droves after big summer storms, lay their eggs, and disappear almost immediately. |

| Although the illustrations are very nicely done, very amusing, the story itself could use some help. A pet iguana's health suffers as she lacks something in her life - outdoors, sunshine...adventure, perhaps. I found it a bit sad that the iguana was able to leave her friend/owner so easily to go off on an adventure on her own. The direction this story should have gone was for the owner to figure out that the iguana needed a change of scenery. Then the story could have shown ... Read More: |

| My 3 1/2 year old daughter enjoys everything about bugs, turtles, frogs, etc. so this is a great book for her. Nice color pictures with good explanation of the life cycle of a frog. Only disappointment was I expected the "library binding" I purchased to be hardcover (like at the library!), but it was just a paperback. A hardcover would have been better as it opens flat and lasts much longer. |

| This is a great book that not only children will enjoy, but adults as well. It tells the story of a sea turtle's "interrupted journey" and how the animal is eventually returned to the sea. It was interesting and informative. I learned some sea turtle facts I didn't know before. I highly recommend it. It's a good book for the whole family to read together. |
